The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media about an alleged violent incident involving its Mining Marshals in the Sabon Daga area of Bosso Local Council.
In a statement, the Command’s spokesperson, DSC Abubakar Rabiu Muti, said that at about 9:22 a.m. on October 16, 2025, NSCDC personnel were attacked by hoodlums while attempting to arrest suspects engaged in illegal mining activities.
He explained that despite the attack, the officers exercised restraint and withdrew from the area without escalating the situation.
“We wish to clarify that there was no loss of life or injury to civilians during this incident. Our personnel acted professionally, and the damage reported was limited to our vehicles,” Muti said.
He urged members of the public to disregard the false reports and commended their continued support and understanding.
“The Command remains committed to protecting the nation’s critical assets and infrastructure,” he added, noting that further updates would be provided as necessary.
