The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says inter agency collaboration is key to tackling security challenges bedeviling the country.

Mr Adedotun Keshinro, State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos Command, said this on Tuesday when he played host to NAN, Lagos management team.

Keshinro said that collaborating with sister security agencies as well as stakeholders including the civilian populace in Lagos had made the responsibilities of the corps seamless.

He disclosed that the NSCDC was in partnership with a German political foundation, Konrad-Adenauer Stifung in training other security agencies.

He said that the training spread across five geo political zones except the South West, taken into considerations challenges faced by each zones.

He said that the South West training had been approved by the foundation and would commence soon.

The commandant also said that other stakeholders, including traditional institutions, religious leaders, youths, and women groups, were also trained on inter-agency collaboration, noting that security agencies could not do the job alone.

”None of us is as good as all of us put together; one way or the other, there might be some little clashes, but people are trained on conflict resolution in a manner that it will not escalate,” he said.

Earlier, Mr Adeleye Ajayi, Head of NAN Lagos Office, said that the NSCDC operations in Lagos were smooth.

Adeleye said that there had been robust collaboration between NSCDC and NAN over the years.

He urged both organisations to leverage on the relationship between them to continue to give the Nigerian populace true information on its activities in Lagos .

He added that when you talked to NAN, you have talked to all in Nigeria.
