NUJ, PNN to access states’ infrastructural development
The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) will embark on a nationwide tour, to access the state of infrastructural development across the country.
The NUJ said the plan, which is part of a development-based consortium programme, ‘Nigeria Infrastructural Development Appraisal 2018’, would be undertaken in partnership with Project Network Nigeria (PNN).
In a statement signed by the Executive Director of PNN, Tony Nwaru, the programme, which is also known as ‘Operation Showcase Your Scorecard’, is geared towards the development of democracy.
The programme, according to the statement, is designed to serve as a bridge between performing state governments and international development partners, as well as foreign missions operating in Nigeria.
The tour is aimed at identifying investment potentials and laudable projects in each state in the first stage, while fostering more cooperation, investments and partnerships between such states and various foreign missions already indicating strong interest and participation in the programme.
According to the statement, a team comprising the national president of NUJ, other officials of the body, key officials of foreign missions, selected correspondents, editors of print, electronic and social media shall undertake tours of completed and ongoing projects across various states of the federation.
