The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), organised a workshop for journalists on ‘Conflict Sensitive Reporting and 2023 General Elections,’ ‘the Electoral Act 2022 and the General Elections,’ as well as ‘INEC’s New Technologies for 2023 General Elections’ to guide their reportage during the elections.

The journalists, who participated in the workshop, were drawn from different media organisations.

Speaking during the workshop, the National President of NUJ, Chris Isiguzo, tasked journalists to be fair in their reporting during next year’s general elections. He added that the people have high hope on journalists to get vital information during the election.

Isiguzo, represented by NUJ National Secretary, Shuaibu Leman, tasked journalists to always seek clarification on germane and serious national issues to avoid unverified breaking news as well as casting sensational deadlines that will undermine the credibility of the 2023 general elections.
