NUT commiserates with flood victims
The National President of Nigeria Union of Teacher (NUT), Comrade Nasiru Idris, has commiserated with the affected floods victims, most especially, teachers across the Kebbi State, and Nigeria, as a whole.
Nasir, who spoke through the state NUT boss, Comrade Issa Umar, while addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, yesterday, said the tragedy occurred when the country was facing economy challenge.
The NUT National President, who was shocked when he heard of the disaster, told those affected that government is working hard to ensure that victims are compensated.
“We are going to see how to support our members. We equally appeal to the Federal Government to assist and find lasting solution to curb future occurrence,” he said.
He added that Kebbi State farmers have lost a lot, most especially, farm crops, such as rice, maize, Guinea corn and others while some people also lost their houses to the flood.
