NYSC DG urges corps members to be good ambassadors

Member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been advised to serve their fatherland as good representatives of their families and institutions.

NYSC Director General, Brig-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, gave the advice, yesterday, in his address to corps members at Benue State Orientation Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Council.

He admonished them to uphold the ideals of the scheme as laid down by its founding fathers by being patriotic, selfless and loyal to constituted authority.

Ahmed also advised them to relate very well with their host communities and leave indelible footprints of good memories.

“Be ready to participate in Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) post-camp training and equip yourselves with skills that will make you financially-independent. We have partnered with many stakeholders that will give you loans to enable you to finance your business ideas.

“Protect your integrity, be diligent, adhere to NYSC dress code and be security-conscious at all times,” the DG said.

NYSC Coordinator in Benue, Mr. Abe Ashumate, reported that the corps members were highly enthusiastic and disciplined since their arrival at the camp.

During the DG’s visit, 1,499 corps members, made up of 762 males and 737 females were in camp.
