
Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, yesterday, approved appointment of members of the boards of the State Christian and Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards.
For the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Apostle Sylvanus Okorote was appointed Chairman and Rev. Fr. Christopher Ekabo, Secretary, while Archbishop Godday Iboyi, Rev. Justin Okoroji, Rev. Monday Madukwe, Ven. Robert Oziwele and Dr Ngozi Patricia Buzugbe are members.
The Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has Anwalu Tukur as Chairman, and Dr Ismaila Okundaye as Secretary, while Suleiman Jauro, Dr Ibrahim Afolabi, Hajiya Maryam Nabiri, and Garba Sam Clark are members.
The Permanent Secretary, State Protocol Matters, Nelson Tetsola, made the announcement at the weekend, in Asaba. Executive Assistant on Orientation and Communication to the governor, Dr. Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in a goodwill message to all newly appointed members of the State Christian Pilgrims and Welfare Board, said the state will accomplish tremendous results in interdenominational spiritual upliftment and pilgrims’ welfare under the new leadership.
Oghenesivbe, who is also the Head of Delta State Orientation Bureau (DSOB), further stated that Oborevwori, through various well deserved appointments, has again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to partner all Christian denominations in the state, as reflected in the spread of membership of the new board across the three senatorial districts.
