Occupants survive as truck falls on three vehicles in Lagos

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. when the fully loaded truck fell on the three cars and caught fire as occupants of the vehicles escaped before the vehicles were burnt.

A truck conveying chemicals fell on three vehicles around Igando area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that the tragic incident happened on Monday night around Igando-LASU road. 

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. when the fully loaded truck fell on the three cars and caught fire as occupants of the vehicles escaped before the vehicles were burnt.

The affected vehicles included a Honda, Sienna and a Lexus.

When The Guardian visited the site, officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Traffic Management Agency and Men of the Lagos State Police Force were evacuating the debris of the vehicles.

A LASEMA officer told The Guardian that the driver of the Honda vehicle who was his neighbour was in the hospital receiving treatment.

This is coming two days after four persons were confirmed dead in a head-on collision between a petrol tanker and a truck conveying cement along Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at Kaiyetoro end of the expressway by Eleko Bus Stop on Sunday afternoon, March 27.
