Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni has ordered immediate investigation into the allegations of land-grabbing at Ajogbo Akia in Ado-Odo-/Ota Local Council to fish out perpetrators, arest and bring them to justice.

Ojajuni also directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers covering the jurisdiction to deploy high-visibility operational patrols and intelligence assets to Ajogbo Akia and surrounding agricultural corridors to maintained peace and orders.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The CP said that his decision followed a complaint in connection with alleged farmland destruction, criminal intimidation, and activities of suspected land grabbers at Ajogbo community in Ado-Odo/Ota council.

He said that according to the complaint raised by traditional rulers and residents at the council, the suspected land grabbers invaded their farmlands and made it difficult for the farmers or residents to operate on the lands.

Ojajuni stated that disputes relating to land title, boundary adjustment, and ownership claims are strictly civil matters, for which aggrieved parties are required to seek appropriate judicial remedies before the courts of competent jurisdiction.

He noted that patrol team had been deployed to monitor the are day and night to ensure farmers and residents access their farmlands safely and carry out their activities without threat, harassment or disruption.

The CP, however, restated the command’s commitment to zero-tolerance against illegal land grabbing, self-help, and threats to life.

He commended the Traditional Ruler, Baale, Oluwasegun Adebiyi, and community leaders for seeking law enforcement intervention rather than resorting to violence.

Ojajuni urged members of the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and cooperate fully with the police investigators, by providing actionable intelligence to ensure lasting peace across the state.
