Ogun Gov’ship: Yayi Diaspora launches global push for Sen. Adeola

Group demand justice for raped minor in Ogun

The Yayi Diaspora Support Group has officially launched an international mobilisation effort to back Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s governorship ambition ahead of the Ogun State election.

The initiative was unveiled during the group’s inaugural virtual strategy meeting , which brought together supporters from the United States and Canada. The session focused on strengthening international engagement, expanding campaign visibility, and aligning diaspora efforts with grassroots political activities in Ogun State.

Speaking at the meeting, facilitator Adeboye Adejobi lauded the commitment of members, describing the effort as a “significant step toward coordinated global support” for the campaign. Participants agreed that the diaspora would play a pivotal role in mobilising support, amplifying campaign messages through media platforms, and bridging the gap between overseas supporters and local voters.

The group confirmed that a formal letter of support has already been delivered and acknowledged by Senator Adeola, signalling early alignment with the broader campaign structure. Plans are also underway to host Adeola in North America for a series of town hall meetings, stakeholder dinners, and community interactions aimed at deepening diaspora participation.

To ensure smooth coordination, an executive committee was constituted with Ademola Adejobi as coordinator, Adegboyega Salau as deputy coordinator, Oluwaseyi Odeyemi as treasurer, and Adeboye Adejobi as secretary.

The meeting participants expressed optimism about sustained collaboration and the transformative role the diaspora is expected to play in supporting Adeola’s campaign.
