
Operatives of the So-Safe Corps in Ogun State have intercepted four motorcycles conveying 22 sacks of Indian hemp.
The corps also apprehended two of the suspected illicit drug dealers at Abule Sikiru, along Igbo-Ora Road, Abeokuta North Local Council of the state.
Its Commander, Soji Ganzallo, said, yesterday: “At about 0230hours, on December 11, 2023, officers of the Oke Ogun Area Command, during routine patrol, spotted four Bajaj motorbikes.”
In a statement, spokesperson of the corps, Moruf Yusuf, said three of the motorbikes were carrying 22 sacks of marijuana, while the fourth carried two persons, who were leading the team, armed with charms.
He said three of the suspects escaped, while two were apprehended, alongside the exhibit and the motorbikes.
He said the two culprits who were apprehended refused to disclose their identities during interrogation.
Two of the motorbikes were marked, ABG 041 DY and MEK 071 QC, while the others were not registered.
The suspects, the exhibit, and the motorbikes were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at its state headquarters in Alamutu, Abeokuta.
