Ogun traditional rulers mourn Alaafin
The Ogun State Council of Obas has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde, families and people of Oyo State and indeed the whole Yoruba race, on the passing away of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the council said: “Nigeria has lost a strong stabilising voice in culture and governance. Oba Adeyemi’s repertoire of history and valuable advice shall be sorely missed.”
“It is noteworthy that Kabeyisi left us during this holy Ramadan. We pray the Almighty Allah grant him alijanah firdaus and give those he left behind that fortitude to bear the great loss.”
