There are indications that the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Afenifere and the Middle Belt Forum are making plans to meet with President Bola Tinubu on the need to immortalise the late elder statesman, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

Iwuanyanwu was until his demise on July 25 this year the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide.

Ben Obi, who chairs the national burial committee for the late philanthropist and business mogul, made this known, yesterday, at a press briefing held at the Imo State governor’s lodge in Abuja.

Obi disclosed that Iwuanyanwu would be interred on Friday, November 1, this year, saying that members of his committee would work in concert with the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Governor Hope Uzodimma, and the South East Governors Forum to achieve the objective.

He said: “We are also going to make that demand strongly because Iwuanyanwu was undisputedly one of the foremost statesmen of this country in respect of any human endeavour you look at.

“So, it would be in our interest to join hands with the other groups and work hands gloves with South East Governors Forum and the Chairman of PGF, Hope Uzodimma, to achieve it.”

Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Okey Emeuche, noted that Iwuanyanwu remained committed to the quest for equity and justice till he died.
