Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has refuted a recent social media report that he was ill and flown from Europe to India as a result of a ghost appearing to him while in his office.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, and made available to The Guardian in Owerri, Okorocha said there was no truth in the report, adding that he went to Europe for investment purposes with economic aides and combined the visit with meeting with his wife and daughter, who was delivered of a baby.

The statement urged the public to disregard the report, insisting nothing like that occurred.

“On Tuesday, July 26, the same group injected an audio into the social media to blackmail the governor. In the audio, they talked about “Alhaji or Okoro Hausa in Government House running Amaljiri government.

“They also talked about “mosque in Government House loaded with ammunitions and plans to bomb Relief Market, Douglas road, World Bank road and Ama Hausa, where they said the imagined bombers were kept.
