Okorocha urges Muslims to pray for Buhari, unity, prosperity of Nigeria

As Muslims celebrate Eid-El-Kabir, Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has urged them to use the occasion to pray fervently for President Muhammadu Buhari and the prosperity and unity of the country.

Okorocha, in a statement in Owerri yesterday signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, also called for prayers of love among one another.

He said: ‘’As Muslims in the country, especially those of them from Imo, join their Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world to mark Eid-El-Kabir, the governor has challenged them to be patriotic enough and pray earnestly for the prosperity and unity of the country and also for love for one another more than they had done in the past years.’’

He also asked for prayers for the leaders, adding that sincere prayers would make the nation overcome challenges.

‘’The governor also asked for prayers for the leaders and noted that with sincere prayers, the country would come out of its challenges and move forward, saying those lacking faith in the unity of the country should try and strengthen such faith.

He warned hate speeches, adding those indulging in hate speeches are not patriotic citizens.

He commended the Muslims in the state for being peaceful, assuring that Imo people would not only continue to live in harmony with them, but would also continue to treat them as partners in progress.
