Omo-Agege, Dangote, others to address nation building at GCU Old Boys luncheon


The Deputy Senate President, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu would address nation-building at the Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association’s (GCUOBA) yearly luncheon on Sunday, December 8, 2019.

The event, which will hold at Eko hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos by, would also have in attendance Aliko Dangote as a special guest and Alhaji Ismaila Funtua as the chairman.

According to the President, GCUOBA, Lagos chapter, Sam Omatseye, the focus of this year’s luncheon is on the contributions of the products of the schools, known as ‘Young Mariners’, in nation-building.

He said the theme, “Mariners of Promise”, has been developed with emphasis on enterprising mariners who have distinguished themselves in different fields of endeavour, as the new set would be honoured and celebrated at the event.

He said GCUOBA is one of the foremost schools in Nigeria founded in 1945 and has till date produced some of the most outstanding and distinguished personalities in Nigeria, across various fields of human endeavour over the school’s lifespan.

He further added that the event, which hold’s yearly, provides a platform for old boys, their families and friends to unwind and relieve memories of old times and at the same time afford members the opportunity to raise funds for various projects in their alma mater.
