The Ondo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday, released guidelines for the conduct of its governorship primary, slated for August 18 and September 19.
The state chairman, Isaac Kekemeke said at a press conference that the guidelines became necessary in order to moderate the conduct of its numerous aspirants.
The rules state that aspirants must write a letter of nomination, accompanied with a bank draft of N2 million as party development levy.
This, he said is in line with the duly passed 2016 budget of the party. He however said female aspirants would only pay N1 million, alongside their letter of notification.
Also as part of the rules, the aspirants must desist from acts of violence, political bitterness and inordinate ambitions.
The chairman expressed fears that recent developments in the party have showed that the aspirants’ campaigns could lead to crises, if not well handled.
