Members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Ondo State on Wednesday declared their support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the State.

The endorsement event took place at the state secretariat of the association in Akure, with thousands of drivers from across the 18 local government areas of the State in attendance.

The State Chairman of RTEAN, Comrade Adewale Bolarinwa, stated that members of the association declared their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa without coercion, noting that they have seen the developmental efforts of the Governor and therefore back his continuity in office.

Bolarinwa, who assured the Aiyedatiwa of total commitment to his administration’s success in office, appreciated his leadership and his display of love and support for the association.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Olugbenga Omole, noted that the action of RTEAN is not only encouraging, but it is an affirmation of the governor’s acceptance in the state.

Omole added that the activities and programmes of government that were carefully selected and implemented under the leadership of Aiyedatiwa in the transport sector in the last nine months have been life-changing for those in the sector.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters, Comrade Bola Taiwo, encouraged the RTEAN members to continue to spread their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa to everyone and come out in their large numbers to vote for the Governor at the gubernatorial election come November 16.

Aiyedatiwa, who commended the RTEAN members for the endorsement and support, stressed that his administration will continue to provide adequate security of lives and property as well as good roads for easy movement of the people.
