One dies, 34 injured in Osun auto crashes
One person, yesterday died, while 34 others were injured in two separate auto crashes along the Ilesa-Ife expressway in Osun State.
Public Relations Officer for the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, said the first accident occurred as a result of a route traffic violation, otherwise known as “one-way.”
According to her, a white-coloured Toyota bus, at about 12:25p.m, drove one-way along Ife-Ilesa and had a collision with a Toyota RV4 SUV.
She said 30 occupants of the two vehicles sustained injuries and were taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, while the vehicles involved were handed over to the police at Moro.
On the second mishap which occurred an hour later on the same route, Ogungbemi said one person died in the lone accident.
The accident, she said happened at Obadare Area, close to Iwaraja community and involved a Toyota bus, marked KPA216LG, which was on high speed before its tyre burst.

“The injured victims were rescued to Wesley Guide Hospital, Ilesha, while remains of the deceased were deposited at the hospital morgue. All items recovered were taken to the command by the rescue team,” Ogungbemi added.
