The Management of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, Ogun State, has condemned in the strongest possible terms any form of assault on medical and healthcare personnel within the facility.

This followed an assault on one of the staff members of the facility by the relatives of a patient.

The management reiterated its zero-tolerance stance towards violence against its staff, warning that any individual or group found culpable in such acts will be promptly apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

“The safety, dignity, and well-being of our healthcare workers remain a top priority, as they are committed daily to saving lives and providing quality care to all,” the management said.

It assured the public that the affected staff member is currently receiving appropriate medical attention and support from the hospital management.

It called on patients, relatives, and the general public to cooperate with healthcare workers and uphold mutual respect at all times.

“Acts of violence only serve to undermine the delivery of essential healthcare services and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. OOUTH remains committed to maintaining a safe and conducive environment for both patients and staff,” the management said.
