Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma OPFY, have neutralised a terrorist and recovered four motorcycles and other items during a dawn offensive operation in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the general area of Yantumaki Forest, troops conducted a coordinated offensive against the terrorists. Troops engaged the terrorists with maximum firepower, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bushes.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Media Information Officer Joint Task Force North-west OPFY, Lt Colonel Aliyu Danja and made available to newsmen in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.
According to the statement, during exploitation of the area, troops confirmed the neutralisation of one terrorist and recovered four motorcycles, one mobile phone and five empty intravenous drip containers, suspected to have been used in the treatment of wounded terrorists.
