Opposition parties explain why they endorse PDP guber candidate

Senator Sandy Onor
Coalition of Opposition Political Parties (COPPS) in Cross River State has explained that it adopted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the coming election, Sandy Onor, due to his competence.
The group, made up of chairmen from opposition parties, endorsed Onor at the weekend in Calabar.
Chairman of the group, Mr. Ntami Esege, disclosed this to newsmen in a statement.
According to him, due diligence and conscious efforts to examine what the state had gone through in the last eight years were considered before arriving at the decision.
Esege, who is also the state chairman of APM, said Onor is the most qualified in terms of capacity, and character among other contestants for the governorship poll slated for March 18.
The statement, which was co-signed by nine other chairmen in the group, reads: “ We, chairmen of political parties under the aegis of Coalition of Opposition Political Parties (COPPS) in Cross River State, formally adopt and endorse Senator Sandy Onor, candidate of the PDP for the position of governor in the March18, 2023 election.
“We arrived at this decision after a careful assessment of all the candidates with focus on competence, capacity and character.”
“Conscious of what the state has gone through in the last eight years, we unanimously resolved to support a man with the right credentials to lead the state to an enviable height.”
