OSGF orders SON to vacate Lekki operational office June
Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has been ordered to vacate its operational headquarters building in Lekki, Lagos State, owned by Raw Materials, Research and Development Council at the most by end of next month.
The quit notice was issued by a committee raised by Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government to a decision that SON relocates from the building, which it has occupied since 2001 following allocation by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.
A source privy to the panel’s deliberation said a formal letter had been delivered to SON since December 2021. The non-adherence, it noted, has been stalling RMRDC from implementing its mandate.
The committee chairman, who is a director in OSGF, The Guardian gathered, was emphatic that the quit order was sequel to the refusal of SON representatives on the panel to commit to a definite date when the entire property would be handed over to RMRDC even though parts of it were handed over in March 2022.
