Ahead of today’s commissioning of a housing estate in Issele-Azagba community in Aniocha North Local Council of Delta State by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the people have commended the federal and Delta governments for siting the project in the town.

In a statement by the President, Issele-Azagba Development Union, Mr. Benneth Illoh, a leading member of the community, Sir Paul Ofor and a member of Issele-Azagba Progressive Forum, Chief Augustine Anonyai Ojei, they appealed for provision of basic amenities to make life meaningful in the new estate.

The community equally sought rehabilitation of access roads and immediate compensation of the many farmers whose crops were destroyed to accommodate the project.

The statement read in part: “On behalf of his people, our monarch, Obi Francis Jidouwa II, thanks the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, and the Federal Government for finding Issele-Azagba suitable for the housing project which is being commissioned today.

“While we commend this laudable project, we also appeal to the government to provide the necessary facilities like pipe borne water, electricity and health centre to make life meaningful in the new estate, and equally tap into the huge economic potentials of the investment-friendly community, given its proximity to Asaba, to site small-scale industries in the area.”
