Osun APC urges electorates to choose continuity in 2018 guber poll
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has said that in 2018, the people will have to choose between continuity of progressive governance or a return to the era of failure of leadership which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) allegedly inflicted on them for seven years’.

According to the party, the choice has to be right for Osun to be in the right direction and achieve excellence.

The Osun APC, in a statement by its Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi, noted that the stakes for the future of the state are so high that the residents have to be clear about what was, what is and what the future portends, relative to their choice.

“It is a stark choice between rotten experience of the PDP era of stagnation, filth, mismanagement and squadermania and the APC era of monumental development which has uplifted Osun to the status of one of the pace setting states in Nigeria even with the recent index ranking it as the highest human capital development state after Lagos in Nigeria,” the party declared. It urged the people to choose continuity.

Meanwhile, the crisis that rocked the leadership of the party in Ebonyi State since 2015 has been laid to rest as members of a faction pledged their loyalty to the group led by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.

At a reconciliatory meeting held in Abakaliki, the minister said the reconciliation exercise was necessary for uniting the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.

According to Onu, the faction hitherto loyal to the suspended chairman of the party, Ben Nwaobashi, comprising 13 aggrieved members of the State Working Committee (SWC) were welcome back to the party without conditions.

The minister urged the returnees to shun anti-party activities, assuring them of equal opportunity with other members.

“History is being made today as we achieve a total reconciliation that will enthrone lasting peace and unity in our party. We receive our party men and women who left the fold in open arms and assured them of equal treatment and opportunity. Together we must work in unity and in peace to ensure that APC emerges victorious in the forthcoming general elections, Onu said.

In his own remarks, Chief Martin Elechi, immediate past governor of Ebonyi State enjoined them to work for success of the party in Ebonyi.

Earlier in his speech, the Acting Chairman of the APC, Chief Eze Nwachukwu described the reconciliatory meeting as an epoch making event, explaining that the move would further strengthen the party.
