A renowned cleric and Planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has urged voters in Osun State to allow their conscience, rather than money, guide them in choosing the next governor in .Saturday’s governorship election.

He urged the electorate not to sell their votes but to elect a candidate capable of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaking at the annual prayer and fasting programme held at the Adamimogo Jesus City Camp Ground, along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, the cleric also appealed to youths across Osun State not to allow unscrupulous politicians to use them to cause violence before, during and after the election.

According to him, the people of Osun State must vote wisely in the forthcoming election.

He said: “Please think deeply and ensure it is the person you know will bring progress to the state that you vote for. Vote with your conscience and not for money. If you sell your votes in Osun to the highest bidder, know that those who buy the votes from you will first ensure they loot the treasury to retrieve their money when they get to power.

“It is this kind of dirty game that has made our nation remain stagnant. Let your conscience guide you in voting for the right person. Any politician who is hell-bent on enticing you with money to get your vote has no good plan for the state.

“I also want to urge the electorate to ensure that they do not vote with bitterness. They should ensure that the politician they are sure would do the job is the one they give their votes to. This advice is for all Nigerians who will be going to the polls in the coming months.”

Addressing the youths in Osun State, Olu-Alo said they should resist attempts by politicians to use them to disrupt the electoral process.

“As for the youths in Osun State, please do not allow yourself to be used by politicians to cause violence or disrupt elections. Most of these politicians who send you on such deadly errands have their children living abroad, well protected, but put your life in danger.

“They do not allow their children to face such violence as they ensure they are secured. But they put your own life in danger when they send you on such errands. As a vibrant Nigerian youth, if you do not allow yourself to be used by these politicians and ensure that you live a decent lifestyle, you can also become the governor in the nearest future.

“Any nation that allows bloodshed incurs the wrath of God. So, the people of Osun State, I urge you to vote with your conscience and protect your votes. It shall be well with you.”

Speaking on the prayer session and the empowerment programme organised for hundreds of young people who attended the event, Olu-Alo said the annual programme was established to seek God’s intervention for the hopeless and less privileged.

“What we are doing here is an annual prayer meeting and fasting. We use the occasion to ask for mercy for those who are hopeless. It is what God has asked me to be doing since He called me into the ministry.

“According to Hosea 2:23, ‘I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called Not Loved. I will say to those called Not My People, You are my people; and they will say, You are my God.’ We thank God that He is fulfilling His promises. There have been testimonies by the attendees. It is barely nine days since we started and many have been giving testimonies. Even those who listen to the programme or watch it on social media have been testifying to the goodness of God.

“In this programme, we also empower the less privileged. We are always empowering people so that they can become self-reliant and useful to society.

“One of the skills we are equipping the people with is digital marketing, and I am surprised that so many people have enrolled for the programme. Our team also provides training in tailoring, Adire-making and other skills. We have as our resource persons those who have earlier received training and are now training other youths to acquire skills in these programmes.”
