Over $30b needed yearly to address infrastructural challenges— Izuwah
The Director-General/Chief Executive Office of Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Chidi Izuwah, has said addressing Nigeria’s infrastructure challenges would require sustained expenditure of over US$30bn yearly, over the next decade.
Izuwah said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on Friday, in Abuja. He said about US$15b is needed for federal infrastructure alone, especially for capital spending and power.
Responding, Akpabio said the ministry was going to partner ICRC on provision of health facilities and job creation in the region.Minister of State, Senator Omotayo Alasoadura, said government needed the private sector’s expertise aside their money, as there was nowhere government could provide everything expected in the society.
