The Transformation Church, led by Rev. Dr. Sam Oye, has called on Nigerians to unite in prayer and solidarity in response to the nation’s growing economic hardship and social challenges.

He expressed concern over the government’s inability to tackle pressing economic issues.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Oye said that the upcoming conference with the “The Encounter 2024” on November 1, would gather Nigerians from diverse ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds, providing a space for spiritual healing and national unity.

He reaffirmed its dedication to fostering unity across Nigeria by organizing a one-night worship experience to unite Nigerians in prayer amidst hardships and crisis.

The cleric said the church has also funded infrastructure projects, including road improvements and improved sanitation for local schools, reaffirming its commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of Nigerians.

Oye said: “The Encounter 2024” as a platform where people, especially Nigerians can come together with a shared belief in God and vision for a prosperous and peaceful Nigeria.

“The Encounter brings together Nigerians from all walks of life, from different tribes, tongues, and ethnicity. The purpose of this initiative is to create an environment for people across the world.

“But most importantly Nigeria and particularly Abuja, can come together in the midst of the crisis, divisiveness, ethnic conflicts going on in the country. It’s going to be a night where we spend time praying for Nigeria and Nigerians.”

He noted that amid the political and economic difficulties facing the nation, citizens can no longer depend on the government, which calls for the need to focus on God for hope and direction.

“As a faith-based organisation, our assignment is to pray for those in government, not to criticize them. So we are going to use this time also to pray for Nigeria, it is a night where we come together to turn our attention to the Almighty God and trust him for his assistance.”

In his remarks, the executive chairman of “The Encounter 2024” and of TTC Central Area, Emmanuel Isaiah, reiterated that the conference is not just an event but a call for divine mercy and healing for Nigeria.

“This is one night where we believe strongly that God’s mercy will show up for our nation. God’s mercy will intervene in the individual lives of Nigerians. So we are using this one night to pray to God to show our nation his mercies and help us get to where he has ordained us to get to.”
