Oyedepo advises students to embrace agriculture

Chancellor, Landmark University Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Bishop David Oyedepo has advised Nigerian students to be promoters of agripreneurship development.

Oyedepo, speaking during Landmark University’s 9th convocation, said food security had become a global concern, with over one billion people suffering from starvation, hunger and malnutrition.

He argued that Nigerians must wake up to the reality of charting pathway for strengthening the economy via productive and creative engagements in agro-enterprise.

According to him, there is no better time than now for innovative, creative and inventive thinking towards agriculture.

Oyedepo however, admonished the 824 matriculating students to see the ceremony as an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the values, which Landmark University stands for, as solution providers and leaders for their generation and time.

In his remark, Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Adeniyi Olayanju, said the institution is endowed with potential to save and improve lives by uniting brilliant minds across disciplines to tackle the world’s greatest challenges.
