Oyetola tasks engineers on quality work, deplores quacks in profession
Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola has charged members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) to always uphold standards by offering quality work while executing projects in the state.
Oyetola stated this at the investiture of the 19th Chairman of Osogbo Branch of the NSE, Wale Alonge.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Wales Oyebamiji, urged the NSE to flush out quacks in the profession to maintain integrity and creativity.
The governor, at the occasion, which featured inauguration of new executives and induction of corporate members, lauded engineers for their roles in nation-building.
He described the NSE Vice President (South-West), Adeniran Felix Ibitoye, who is also his Special Adviser on Water Resources and Energy, as “a trusted and capable executive member that can be trusted with higher position.”
NSE President, Babagana Mohammed, who was represented by the Vice President (North-East), Aisha Umar, said: “NSE will continue to support government across the country to build and develop infrastructure that can stand the test of time.”
Adeniran assured that the “present administration under the able leadership of Oyetola would continue to work and strive to put smiles on the faces of the people of Osun State.
Also, Alonge pledged to uphold the ethos of the profession, work with both the government and private engineering firms to better the life of the people.
