Oyo NSCDC arrests, arraigns alleged naira notes vendors
The Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested and arraigned a 38-year-old woman, Mrs. Abiodun Anifat, for illegally selling naira notes.
A statement made available to journalists by the Public Relation Officer of the agency, Olusegun Oluwole, said Anifat was remanded in Agodi Prison, Ibadan on the orders of the Federal High Court in Ibadan, following her arraignment on a two-count charge bordering on tampering, trading in currency, hawking and selling of currency notes, which is contrary to Section 21(1) and (4) of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act 2007
She was among the suspects arrested in Ibadan during a joint operation by the state command of NSCDC and CBN officials.
The case has been adjourned until November 26.
