Oyo opens negotiations on minimum wage

The Oyo State Government yesterday said it would meet Labour leaders on Monday to begin negotiation on the minimum wage whilst congratulating the newly elected officers of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state led by Titilola Sodo in an election, which held on Thursday at Adamasingba stadium.

According to a statement from the State’s Information Commissioner, Toye Arulogun, the state government commended the union for a peaceful transition on the same day Governor Abiola Ajimobi inaugurated a joint transition Committee to midwife the handing and taking over the reins of government in the state.

Arulogun disclosed that the government will be meeting labour on Monday to open up discussions on the modalities for implementing the new minimum wage for immediate implementation and commended the state NLC for its cooperation in the last eight years of the Ajimobi administration.
