Oyo postpones teachers’ recruitment interview for Isese Day
The Oyo State government has announced a shift in the timetable for its ongoing teachers’ recruitment interview.
The exercise, initially scheduled to be held on Tuesday, August 20, has been rescheduled to Monday, August 26, to coincide with the celebration of Isese Day, a public holiday in the state.
Isese Day, observed annually on August 20, is a significant cultural event dedicated to honouring the Yoruba heritage and traditions.
The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) made the decision to adjust the interview date to ensure all candidates have equal opportunity to participate in the recruitment process without conflicting with the cultural celebration.
Affected by the rescheduling are candidates from Saki West, Saki East, Irepo, Oriire, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Ogbomoso North, and Ogbomoso South Local Government Areas.
The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, stressed the importance of respecting cultural practices while urging candidates to adhere to the revised timetable.
