Panel on Nimbo killings begins sitting
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into killing of people and destruction of property by suspected herdsmen in Nimbo, Uzo Uwani Local Council of Enugu State, has started sitting.
Speaking yesterday during the inaugural sitting in Enugu, the Chairman of the panel, Justice Chukwuma Eneh (rtd), promised that the panel would do justice to all parties involved in the matter.
Eneh, who described the assignment as critical owing to the security threats in parts of the country arising from the activities of suspected herdsmen, said: “We call on Nimbo people and every other community where herdsmen live and graze their cattle in the state to co-operate with us as we strive to discharge our duties without any ill-will.
“We equally call on the herdsmen to co-operate with us in spite of the season they are in.”
Eneh said that the commission would do its best to curtail infringements on citizens’ rights in the interest of communities and herdsmen.
He said that all parties involved would be given summons “as we would not like anybody to complain of being omitted.

he!!!! Nigeria the country full of panels and committees. there for the country full of unsolved crimes, the country full of injustice and the country full of bench warmers.
A crime happened here where suspected armed herdsmen killed people. what we need is a police investigation…shikena!
after investigation and the culprits are found then they are taken to face the law and their sentences arrived at and meted out to them. what is the purpose of this panel now? Besides hear say no evidence has been shown that these were herdsmen who committed this crime. and the last i checked these herdsmen are nomads so they do not have access to the internet to read that justice eneh is calling them to cooperate with his so called panel.
please we all are not stupid even though our government is used to dealing with stupid Nigerians. Solve the crime and enforce the law on property encroachment. Stop wasting time and resources creating useless panels.
We will review and take appropriate action.
