Panic as petrol tanker, truck explodes in Lagos


There has been panic in Lagos on Friday as a petrol tanker exploded near Lagos local airport.

The tanker, according to our sources, exploded while discharging its content in the reservoir.

It is yet to be ascertained if there are casualties as a result of the incident.

Our sources, who confirmed these reports advised pedestrians to avoid these areas until normalcy is restored.

Similarly, another truck at Ketu area of Lagos was reported to be burning in flames Friday afternoon on the main road.

Another source told The Guardian that the burning truck was along Ikosi-Ketu area of Kosofe Local Government in Lagos.

Residents and pedestrians were also advised to restrain movement to and fro Ketu and Ojota areas.

“Lagos 12.27hr (situation) Report of a burning trailer currently on flame at Ketu interchange towards Tollgate axis, Personnel moving in from Ikosi and Ojota routes are hereby advise to make use of highway towards Demorin axis alternatively,” our sources said.
