Former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Peter Ojonugwa Ameh, has felicitated with the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, on his 65th birthday, describing him as an incorruptible leader and enduring symbol of hope for Nigeria.
In a goodwill message released on Saturday, Ameh praised Obi’s record of integrity, fiscal discipline and principled leadership, saying he has remained a shining example of ethical public service in a country where transparency and accountability are increasingly being demanded by citizens.
According to him, Obi’s unwavering commitment to honesty and prudent management of public resources has continued to inspire millions of Nigerians, particularly young people, to believe that the country can be transformed through responsible leadership.
He said the former Anambra governor has consistently championed financial discipline, opposed wasteful spending and demonstrated that accountable governance remains the pathway to reducing poverty and inequality.
Ameh noted that Obi’s leadership style has reinforced the belief that character, competence and integrity are indispensable qualities for national development.
“As you mark this milestone, we draw fresh hope from the example you represent. You embody the belief that character still matters, that competence and integrity can transform our society, and that one person’s dedication can inspire the dreams of an entire generation,” he said.
The former IPAC chairman prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and strength for Obi, expressing hope that he would continue to contribute to Nigeria’s democratic growth and national development.
He also joined Obi’s family, friends and supporters in celebrating the former presidential candidate’s 65th birthday, describing him as “not just a leader, but a symbol of hope” for millions of Nigerians.
Obi turned 65 on Saturday, attracting goodwill messages from political associates, supporters and admirers across the country.
