The newly appointed sole administrator for Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), has arrived at Government House, Port Harcourt.

He arrived Thursday afternoon with an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, while camps loyal to suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara were absent.

Specifically, the Director of Energy Security and former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State under former Governor Wike, Mr. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, was at the Government House, directing and clearing the way for the Sole Administrator.

Speaking briefly, the sole administrator said he is currently meeting with the Head of Service, permanent secretaries, and the service commanders to get formal briefings as he sets out on the leadership journey.

The sole administrator described Port Harcourt as calm, stating that his aim is to ensure the state gets back to where it has always been.

However, he assured that he would address the media on other issues of concern later.

His words: “I want to thank you (press) for what you have been doing so far. You are all aware I just got in here and decided to meet with the Head of Service, the permanent secretaries, and the service commanders to get formal briefings.

“It is proper for me to have something to say to you all thereafter. I assure you that this evening, I will address you and the issues you may want to raise now.

“Port Harcourt is calm. All we want is for Port Harcourt to get back to where it has always been.”
