Gunmen have abducted a retired Inspector of Police, Ayuba Mangdihis, a native of Daika community of Panyam District in Mangu Local Council of Plateau State.

The retired inspector was kidnapped at his residence at about 11:00p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

The Guardian learnt from a member of his family yesterday that the kidnappers came knocking and requested him to open his door.

The source explained that when the retired police officer woke up and realised that they were kidnappers, he pleaded with them, but they forced the door open and left after firing some shots.

According to the family source, they left with their victim and are yet to contact them for ransom as at 4:00 p.m. yesterday.

His abduction came two weeks after Mr. Gashon Leks, also from Daika was kidnapped but later released after payment of ransom, while the District Head of Panyam was also kidnapped earlier in the year but was later released.

Also, a Second Class Ruler of Gindiri, His Royal Highness, Malo and another ruler, Gubiyu have previously been kidnapped in Mangu Council as well as elder brother to retired Air Commodore Leks.
