Police arrest 43 for possession of fake dollars, drugs, hooliganism
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 43 suspected criminals for possession of counterfeit United States of America Dollars, hooliganism and drugs.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Habu Sani, eight of the suspects had been charged to court, while 35 are currently in custody undergoing investigation.
The newly posted CP paraded the suspects along with the exhibits recovered from them. He attributed their arrest to the ongoing special operation; code named “Operation Puff Adder”.
He said: “We have recovered one locally made pistol with six rounds 0.7mm caliber of live ammunition, 32 cutlasses, a motorcycle, 40 wraps of dry leaf suspected to be Indian hemp, 196 sachets of assorted drugs and codeine syrup and 903 pieces of counterfeit US dollar.
“I want to extend the Command’s sincere appreciation to Bauchi State Government and people, sister security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, and Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) for their unrelenting support and cooperation towards ensuring peace and stability in the state.”
