The Yobe State Police Command has arrested four suspects for illicit drug offences and the recovery of dozens of tramadol capsules in Kolere community in Fune Local Council Area of the state.
According to the command, the apprehension were made in a renewed strategies toward combating crime and criminality across the state,
Spokesperson of the command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim in a statement in Damaturu disclosed: “The Police have continue to record significant breakthroughs following a successful crackdown on notorious drug dealers and criminal hideouts in Kolere village of the local government area.
Besides the arrests of suspects, he revealed: “In a coordinated operation carried out by the Area Command, Potiskum, police operatives on 6th May 2026 at about 3:00 p.m raided the Borno Kichi market, a notorious hideout used by criminal gangs alledgedly involved in drug peddling and harbouring of criminal elements.”
The SP explained that during the operation, four suspected drug dealers were arrested comprising Nafizu Adamu, 25, Babale Idi,25, Shuaibu Mohammed,35, and Shuaibu Musa, 22,
He stated that they were also in possession of various illicit substances, including dozens of tramadol capsules.
Other exhibits recovered from the suspects included, tramadol capsules, assorted hard drug tablets, Indian hemp, and rubber solution popularly known as Sholi.
According to him, all the suspects are residents of Kolere village in the Fune LGA.
The Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin commended the operatives for the successful operation and directed the personnel across the State to sustain the ongoing offensive against criminal syndicates and other related crimes.
The CP alsso warned the criminals to desist from unlawful activities or face the full wrath of the law.
He said investigation is ongoing, after which the suspects will be charged to court accordingly.
