Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State police command have arrested a notorious kidnapper and serial killer, Anthony Ndubuisi, who hails from Ngo-Okpala in Imo State, but resides at Umuebulu Etche in Rivers.

The suspect was arrested through intelligence-led policing and upon interrogation, had confessed to having carried out several kidnappings and killings, including three foreign nationals and a Nigerian.

The Guardian gathered that one of his recent victims was Mr Ajumiene Offor. Offor was lured from Aba to Ndubuisi’s house for a business transaction but was kidnapped and killed on June 9, this year.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Joseph Mukan, disclosed that in the course of investigation, the suspect led operatives to his house at Umuebulu, where he pointed to a septic tank that contained the bodies of his victims.

“On exhumation, we recovered three human skulls and the decomposing body of his recent victim. They have been evacuated and taken to the mortuary for autopsy,” Mukan said.

The police boss said investigation is ongoing and efforts have been intensified to arrest other members of his deadly gang. Two pump-action guns and some cartridges were recovered from the suspect.

Addressing newsmen at the scene of exhumation, the Commissioner of Police condemned the incident and promised to kick out perpetrators of heinous crimes in the state. He advised the public to increase their security consciousness and report all suspicious characters and movements to the police.

The suspect admitted killing four persons and dumping their bodies in a septic tank. He said: “I sell shoes at Garrison, but I live with my family in Etche. I get the people I killed by telling them to bring shoes to my house. When they bring it, I will tell them to sit down.

“When they have sat down, I will go behind their back and strangle them to death. I have been doing this since February this year. When I kill them, I collect the shoes they brought and also their money after which I dump them inside the septic tank in my compound. I have killed four persons since I started. My wife doesn’t see me because she goes to the market. No one else sees me because I live alone with my family in this compound. It is my house,” Ndubuisi confessed.

It would be recalled that last year, one Gracious David-West, a serial killer was arrested in Port Harcourt after killing 15 women across seven states in hotel rooms in the space of two months. David-West was apprehended while trying to escape the intense heat his actions were generating in the state after a CCTV of him in a hotel emerged and went viral on social media.
