Police move against plot to invade Plateau Assembly

Plateau State Police Command has warned suspected hoodlums planning to forcefully gain access into the House of Assembly complex, to foment trouble, to desist from such evil plot.

The command, through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, stated, yesterday, that credible intelligence “revealed that some enemies of the state, who do not want sustainable peace in the state, are planning to forcefully invade the House of Assembly Complex” to destroy to life and property.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Bartholomew Onyeka, having received the information, tightened security around the Assembly Complex to quash the plan.

It reads: “The command, therefore, warns anybody, who has the intention to foment trouble around the House of Assembly or any part of the state to desist from such or be ready to face the full wrath of the law when apprehended.

“The CP further urges the peace-loving residents of Plateau to continue to give useful and timely information to the command to enable the police respond quickly to distress calls from the public.”

Onyeka also advised parents and guardians to caution their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used by selfish persons to perpetrate evil capable of distorting the peace enjoyed in the state.

The police boss urged everyone to go about their lawful businesses, promising to do everything within his power to sustain peace in the Plateau.
