The Police in Delta State have arrested four suspected gun runners from a sting operation in Anyangba town, Kogi State.

The arrested suspects are Zakari Mohammed ‘m’ 31 years old from Olugbujo community; Ibrahim Mumuni ‘m’ 29 years old from Anyangba town, Mohammed Hamisu ‘m’ 25 years from Anyangba town and Samaila Mohammed ‘m’, aged 35 years of Udo community, all in Dekina council of Kogi state.

A spokesperson for the command, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest to journalists in Asaba, explained that a “search warrant was executed at their residence, during which an AK-47 rifle and one automatic Pump action gun were recovered from them.”

According to SP Bright Edafe, the fourth suspect, Samaila Mohammed, was arrested at about 1405 hours by the Police operatives following the statement made by one of the arrested suspects.

He stated that the suspects who are currently in police custody were found with a Baretta pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition and cartridges.

The Police image maker also confirmed the arrest of one Emu Lucky ‘m’, a native of the Igbide community in the Isoko South local government area of the State

Edafe said that on March 25, 2025, at about 1820hrs, the operatives of CP-SAT acting on intelligence, embarked on a covert operation at Olomoro community in Isoko South council, and arrested the 35-year-old man.

He said the police searched his premises and recovered 82 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, even as preliminary investigation further revealed that the suspect was working with one Mohammed Bellow, a suspected kidnapper already in Police custody.

Edafe hinted that Mohammed acted as a middleman, between the suspected gun runner and other suspected kidnappers before he was nabbed.
