Police nab four suspected hemp, drug peddlers in Delta
Delta State Police Command have arrested four suspected drug barons including two females in connection with one hand bag containing weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, at black spots in Abaraka area in Asaba, the state capital.
The suspects were arrested on October 21, 2021. The State Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest gave their names as Blessing Oghule ‘f’, Nweke Abudi ‘f’, Ebuka Paul ‘m’, and Sunday Inuse ‘m’.
Edafe said Oghule was found with one nylon bag containing substances suspected to be ice and 10 wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine.
He said operatives raided the black spots and arrested them with one English Beretta pistol with five live 9mm ammunition, and five phones suspected to have been stolen.
The police spokesman also said the operatives of the Command Anti-cult unit (SACU) acting on a tip off stormed Obiaruku in Ukwuani council and arrested seven suspected Cultists.
According to him, the police raided the suspects’ hideouts and found one locally made short gun, one battle axe, cutlass, knife and charms. The Police, he said, had commenced investigation into the matter while the suspects and the exhibits are in custody.
