Police operatives have rescued four kidnap victims and neutralised seven criminals during operations in Abia and Nasarawa states.
The Force Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, disclosed that these feats were achieved on March 14.
Adejobi revealed that operatives of the Abia State Police Command had received reports of an abduction along New Umuahia Road, Obingwa, in Abia, on March 9.
The police operatives busted the hideout of the kidnappers, which the spokesperson described as three-bedroom bungalow in Osokwa, Osisioma Local Government Area of the state, on March 14.
He further noted that the police operatives got into a gun battle with the criminals, but they were able to secure the release of the abducted victims and arrested the criminals.
Two AK-47 rifles, six magazines, and thirty-four rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the operation.

In a similar operation, operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, neutralized a notorious kidnapper known as Abdullahi.
Adejobi added that the kidnapper, who is also referred to as “Honor,” has been on a wanted list for various offences.
“The suspect, who had been on the wanted list for multiple offences, was intercepted near the Akwanga Central Mosque while attempting to evade arrest on a motorcycle,” said Adejobi.
Although the police were able to secure Abdullahi’s arrest, an accomplice of his, whose identity remains unknown, escaped.
The spokesperson said a manhunt is ongoing to apprehend Abdullahi’s accomplice.
