Police rescue nine children from cult initiation in Lagos

Lagos State Police Command rescued nine children, aged between 9 and 14, who were about to be forced into a cult group initiation.
Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the rescue in a statement on Thursday and highlighted the disturbing details surrounding the children’s ordeal.
The children, whose identities have been withheld for their safety, were discovered during or after the initiation process, according to Hundeyin.
We need to strengthen the family unit!

He added that incisions were found below the children’s lower lips, which indicated their compelled participation in the cult activities.
Hundeyin, however, did not provide any further specific information regarding the operation itself, he confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into the matter.
The policeman, however, advised the general public about the need to strengthen the family unit.
