Poor attendance mars APC governors, National Assembly forum on 2017 budget
A meeting of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) with members of the National Assembly and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been postponed due to boycott by stakeholders expected at the gathering.
The meeting, which was eventually postponed due to poor attendance, was to deliberate on the 2017 budget and the party’s intervention for effective implementation.
The Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Sonni Tyoden and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello arrived Musa Yar’Adua Centre, venue of the meeting early and waited for about one hour before leaving when other guests did not arrive.
The Chairman of the PGF, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma were also at the venue.
Only the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi and the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila attended.A source however said poor planning was responsible for the failure of the event.
