Pray for Nigeria to overcome security challenges, cleric urges Christians
Nigerians have been urged to continue praying for the nation to overcome insecurity as security in the country has degenerated to the lowest level.
Shepherd in charge, Celestial Church of Christ, Genesis Global, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe made the call at a special church service, in Isheri, Lagos.
He attributed the high level of insecurity to lack of direction in the nation saying many Nigerians are too religious and yet are not putting their mind in the right direction.
According to him, love, peace, unity and harmony are important values missing and desperate individuals are taking advantage of this to cause mayhem.
He reminded those behind the country’s security challenges to remember they will one day die leaving behind all the money they profited from troubling the nation.
He advised these desperate individuals to remind posterity will judge them, noting that they should be concerned about their legacy. He added that Nigerians should eschewed self-centredness and be more concerned about others.
Ogundipe said if Nigerians seek the face of God, things will in time change for the better. He also advised the youths to correct the notion that they are lazy and be productive. He said they should stop waiting for what the country is going to do for them.
Ogundipe charged them to invest in personal development and be creative by doing something.
“Everybody has something in him or her, but because we fail to recognise our talents, many people are being tormented,” he said.
While expressing gratitude to God for adding another year to him, the cleric said he has advised his congregation not to bring him gifts but use the money to renovate a nearby primary school.
He said education is an important part of his ministry and he us determined to see that young people get all the support they need to progress in life.
alling on pastors to put up schools for free and hand it over to the government or the community as a CSR project, Ogundipe said building church is good, but men of God should do more for their communities.
