The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Nasarawa State, David Umbugadu, has said that proper deployment of technologies and synergy among security operatives can checkmate the current spate of kidnapping and banditry in the country.

Umbugadu, who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Akwanga, expressed worry over the prevalence of kidnapping and killing of innocent citizens by bandits in the state and the nation at large.

He stressed that the state of insecurity is disturbing and must be taken more seriously with proactive actions using the latest technology.

According to him, it is worrisome to note that with all the communication technologies and intelligence gathering the country is not deploying them adequately to check the activities of bandits in the country.

“If we can deploy the technologies and create synergy between security operatives with full support of the governments we can checkmate kidnapping and banditry,” he added.

He assured that security and youth empowerment would be his core focus when he becomes the governor in 2023.

The governorship candidate lamented the neglect given to the youths in the country, noting that when elected, he will create a special forum where youths entrepreneurship training will be organised to practically produce skilled startups.
