Protest: FG commends Kwara youths’ stance

Federal government has commended the youths of Kwara State for not partaking in the ongoing protests against the nation’s socioeconomic situation in the country.

The National chairman of National-Hydroelectric Power Producing Agency Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC,) Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, who disclosed this yesterday at the launching of N-HYPPADEC area office Pategi in Kwara State added that the federal government was aware of the special love of the youths for president Bola Tinubu’s administration, promising goodies for them in due time.

He said: “we appreciate Kwara youths for refusing to join the protest, not that they are not disgruntled but because they are reasonable and sensible, you shall be compensated for that.”

Meanwhile, the federal government on Thursday handed over the completed N630 million Pategi general hospital erosion control in the state to the community.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF,) Sen George Akume at the event disclosed that none of the successive governments has been tactical and concerned about Nigerians’ plight like the present administration.

Represented by the minister for youth development, Jemila Bio Ibrahim, Akume described the project was a testimony of federal government’s advocacy among the people at the grassroots.

According to him, the project and the likes: “are complete turning point in the environmental fight against devastation.

“This is a manifestation of our untiring efforts to better the lives of the people,” he said, urging all stakeholders to team with the federal government in ensuring improved livelihood for Nigerians.

Speaking in the same vein, Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq commended N-HYPPADEC for delivering the project which he said would ensure environmental safety.

Represented by his commissioner for environment, Nafisat Musa Buge, Abdulrazaq enjoined the community to always protect government property in their locality so as to attract more.
